In the coming days or weeks, you’ll be getting your home spiffed up for the holiday season. Whether you deck out the entire house — themed Christmas trees, Santa dishes, sparkling candles, and garland galore — or you simply place a wreath on the front door, it’s fun to see your home in a new light during this special time.
I recently visited Bachman’s Holiday Idea House to get some decorating ideas. If you live in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, this spot is a must-see! A long-time local floral shop and nursery, Bachman’s transforms an early-1900-era house on the property by repainting, refurnishing, and redecorating it with their signature mix of new trend items, repurposed pieces, and a touch of vintage. For just $5, you are welcome to take a self-guided tour to get inspired for holiday decorating and entertaining.
I got lots of simple holiday decorating tips for my home, as well as some ideas to help my clients get in the holiday spirit. From table setting to tree trimming, mantel displays to candle arrangement, this Idea House tour is not only a fun activity but a great way to get educated on current design trends. The theme at the Idea House was “A Cozy, Contemporary Nordic Celebration,” with lots of fresh greens, traditional reds, driftwood, and Northern European prints to create a cozy, contemporary holiday setting. For info, you can click the photo above to be taken to Bachman’s website. Here are some ideas I’ve implemented on the outside of my house.
